I designed Kiddo Snood because my 5-year-old asked me to. She was feeling cold one morning in September. We agreed that I could knit her a little snood – if it would be soft like her teddybears! I therefore chose the luxery version with cashmere, silk and mohair, because the softer the more likely she would wear it. And she would. She actually won’t take it off again. So, mission accomplished. I chose to add a yarn alternative and this time without mohair. The yarn alternative is three strands to get the right gauge. My daughter also approved this combination.
Kiddo Snood is a classic snood with a high ribbed neck. First you cast on stitches for the neck and work the back with double increases on both sides, which shape the shoulders neatly. The you pick up stitches at the shoulders and work them separately. Finally, you pick up stitches for the ribbed hem at the neckline.
